Linux will be supported by xine.

Xine usually comes as a stand alone player. xine MCD is a special version that installs as part of the OS/2 Multimedia system so that most applications that played video files through MMOS/2 before can be used to play videos through xine.

As someone asked for whom it works. For me :-) Plays already MPeg 1/2 nicely from harddisk, plays unencrypted DVD's and plays the intro of encrypted DVD's when using Nplay as frontend. Some codecs are missing , dvdnav is missing, (s)vcd is missing ... but first steps are done . Sources (with os/2 specific changes) are available for download so everybody feeling capable can assist Darwin O'Connor
